Where can i download Guitar Pro

Recommended Posts

I taught, where can i get fore FREE full version?

Trying for free copies of copyrighted materials is piracy. We have zero tolerence for that here. It is the quickest way to get banned on this forum. READ THE RULES.

That's a good deal. A boxed copy for $6 less than the download version, even after shipping.

That's indeed a good price, allthumbs. I'm not sure, though, about a Mac version, which I don't see at that site. http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/crying2.gif

GuitarPro5 for Mac is described at http://guitar-pro.com/en/index.php?pg=mac-version, but certainly not at a discount. http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/31.gif http://guitar-pro.com/en/index.php is the Home Page, that has links to the PC version and the demo download.

However, anyone who owns a Windows version can download the Mac version for free, according to their comments. http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/claping.gif

For what it's worth, I downloaded the Mac Demo version a couple of weeks ago and, so far, it looks very good. The only limits I've seen with the demo are that only up to 24 measures can be saved, and the import/export of MusicXML isn't allowed. I'm almost convinced to go for it, based on favorable comments that I've seen on gfb&b and with my experience with the demo.

The only quirk I've noticed is that two out of the five TablEdit files I tried to import caused GP5 to "unexpectdly end". http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/dunno.gif I suspect some odd things with large bends or some other exotic tab nomenclature caused that. Not a problem, as I don't use it that much.

The main reason I'm looking at GP5 is because Finale PrintMusic (which I've had since early in the year) doesn't seem to have any flexibility with producing alternate fingerings for fretboard diagrams. I love fretboard diagrams! http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/smilinguitar.gif But, for example, whatever different chord fingerings I express for an FMaj7 chord, PrintMusic always generates a 1-x-2-2-1-x fingering! Seems the only Finale option would be to spring for a $400 upgrade to a full version, but that sure would bend my beer budget out of shape! http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/w00t.gif

Anyway, this is beginning to feel like a rant, so, "color me goneā€¦" http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/images/smilies/yeahhh.gif

Hey papadog65,

You don't have to use the address for the smilie. Just push the smilie button that you want to use and it should insert a specific code which will turn into the smilie icon when you send your post. Such as :claping*: (remove the *) will look like this. :claping:

If you were to use a smilie face from another website, then you'd use the image's address with [img*][/img*] (remove the *'s) on either side. Such as:

Hey, thanks Tekker, :claping:

I guess it was intuitive to me to just drag those little puppies over. :dunno:

I should be able to remember that from now on.
