A gift from my other 'Dad'

Recommended Posts

The fellow who I've know since I could open my eyes and who helped raise me is a bit of a guitar nut. He loves jazz and building his own budget guitars from older and broken guitars. The body on this one he made from scratch. The neck is from a broken Samick he got from the local high school. The head was broken, hence the rather cramped look of the pegs.

This 7-string was setup with playing flat with two-hands on the neck, which is why the top horn on the body is scalloped; so the right forearm isn't impeded.

Good stuff. I wonder how many luthiers started out by building a body and mating it to a shop made neck? What's next? :)
