I've been reading what I believe to be a great book on writing lyrics.

I picked up a cheap used copy at Amazon.

The Craft of Lyric Writing by Sheila Davis

It was described to me as one of those rare books that is head and shoulders above the rest by a man with 40 years in the business.

A few things I seemed to know intuitively as I'm sure many here will but there's so much I had no idea about.

You probably all know what alliteration is but how about a spondee or an anapest?

Good stuff!

Thanks for the recommendation CJ, I had to google those two, I've used them without knowing what they were, the spondees help to emphasize meaning and are usually contained in an anapestic structure, I'm getting this from wikis though need to do more reading. :winkthumb:
