I kept the bottle just in case anybody ever asked me. The product is called Crystal Veneer!

The finish deteriorated over a period of months after I used it, most noticeable on the cedar top.

Your guitar is finished with nitrocellulose (that beautiful glossy shine). After 30+ years it's normal for it to develop fine cracks, it's called crazing....Google 'crazing nitrocellulose guitar' and Look at images to see if they resemble your prob.

I doubt that it's the actual cedar that's cracking, but feel free to send me some good quality close up pics and I'll give you my opinion.

DON'T DO ANYTHING TO MOISTURISE THE TOP! You'll end up creating a huge can of worms.
