I entered the world of this wonderful instrument hoping to play metal and nothing else. Now, 90% of what I listen to is still metal, but I'm open to most styles. I'm not too keen on pop, hip hop, or reggaeton though.
I have hyperacusis, which is a heightened sensitivity to sound. I hear like a dog basically and it gets annoying at times. I've had to cut down on the number of concerts, shows, and clubs I go to in the last few years because of it. Either way, I try not to let it get in my way. On the bright side, I do have perfect pitch, which I am very happy to be born with.
I didn't have the best life in the world, but nonetheless, I'm happy to be alive and well to this day. I try not to get too caught up in it, but sometimes it's just not easy.
My goal is to become a well rounded and technical player drawing from my background in classical piano. I admire the likes of John Petrucci, Chris Broderick, Steve Vai, and Yngwie Malmsteen. I have too many favourite bands to list them all, but if I had to choose one, it would be Dream Theater. Their songs are very deep and meaningful to me and more often than not, it was the words of Dream Theater that have gotten me through times where I never thought I'd make it.
I do have my opinions when it comes to certain issues, but I try to keep an open mind. As long as you don't judge me, I won't judge you (unless you're being racist, sexist, or homophobic). Otherwise, don't be shy, feel free to say hi.
