Forty
years ago Hoshino Gakki, a musical products distributor in Nagoya,
Japan began distributing a Spanish guitar named Ibanez. About 25 years
ago, Hoshino opened an office near Philadelphia, PA for more efficiently
distributing Ibanez guitars to the United States making inexpensive copies
of well known guitars. By the mid-80's with the interest in instrumental
rock guitar growing, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Paul Gilbert helped
make Ibanez the well known brand they are today. This page is dedicated
