Orville Gibson introduced guitars
with carved tops and backs instead of flat ones in 1894, these mandolins
and guitars became an instant success and this lead to the incorporation
of The Gibson Mandolin - Guitar Company in 1902. Over the next 15 years
innovations like raised pickguards, intonation, compensating bridges,
slimmer necks and more modern carving techniques were developed by Gibson
and and sales have continued to increase ever since. Gibson guitars
are built with a careful combination of high precision tools and craftspeople
who love their work. They're built by musicians, for musicians. This
