I Have A Lot Of Songs That Do Not Have The Chords to The melodies such as Hymns from church books. How Do I go about finding the correct chord to play to match the melody? Does the key signature play an important part in determining the chord?
The Key sig give you an idea of the most likely chords. A huge number of tunes use I,IV,V chord progression so that would be the first thing to look at. Relative minors get subsituted for major chords quite often so try them next.
