I can count honest!!

Hi everyone,

This seems a stupid question or at least the reason I am asking it seems stupid, I know about 4/4 time and 3/4 time, but when I am asked to count 123,123, 123 or 1 & 2 & 3 & I get cofused and lose my place in the tab.

Also in strumming there is a great lesson here which says Keep time, say it, Play it,

this lesson is brilliant, but as soon as I try on my own with out his ingeniuos method I lose it.

Did others go through this and will I get it in the end????????

Thanks

pete

Yes you will. You will get to the point where you will internalize it by tapping your foot and feeling it in your body. You will reach the point where you only need to count long enough for you to get the feel of the rythmn and then forget about the counting.

I agree with Allthumbs, and when you get your music on the inside, the joy of playing the guitar is fully realized. Improvizations usually follow. Finally, you will be able to play the guitar without even having one in your hands; in your mind.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
