Over the Rainbow - easy version

I've done the first half of this great old tune as a stripped-back easy fingerstyle lesson. I'll post the second half next week.

  Over the rainbow

Hi Kirk
Thanks for the easy version of over the rainbow. I had tried playing the other version a couple of months ago, thought this is way to hard and gave up.
Tried the easy version last night and played it right through pretty much first go

So I went back to the hard(er) version and found I can almost play that now as well

Using the simpler version as an underlying template and seeing how it fitted was just the spark my brain needed. Also I seem to be getting better at hitting the Bmin barre now than I was a couple of months ago which helps as well.

Thanks again
and cheers

Peter

PS I have been practicing your "ultimate finger stretching exercise / scale" as part of my daily warm up routine and I think that has had a lot to do with my recent improvement

Thanks Kirk,
I've been working on this part one and I'm looking forward to part two. I'm not skilled enough yet to tackle your complex version, so this version is just what the doctor ordered. I've been trying to learn this song for a while!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
