GFB&B Site Update.

Before someone asks - on our endless quest to keep the forum free, we are currently testing out a new system of advertising.

You may have already noticed a couple of words in some posts are showing a dotted underline - ( for example; GuitarPro ) - if you mouse over these words, you will see an image (or in some cases some text) open in a mini drop-down window... If you click on the image or on the word itself, you will be taken to the advertiser's site (opening in a new window).... and if you end up buying from one of our advertisers (through one of these links), you will be helping to support the site.

We are also going to be using this system as a glossary of sorts as well... for example, if the word capo comes up in a post, we will be putting in the definition of a capo. This should be helpful for the real beginners here on the site.

We will also use this system for forum navagation tips, for example, if the word radio appears in a post, it will be linked to our GFB&B radio.

Only one instance of each word will be linked in each post so that it doesn't start looking too busy.

Anyway, as usual, any feedback is welcome.

Clancy

If it helps defer some of the huge costs of keeping this place alive, I'm all for it. Hope it helps.

Good on ya guys. That's a really nice way of doing it. Beats the age-old-tested-and-hated pop-up-ad, hands down!!!

Hi Clancy

Having talked with you and Kirk (via PM) I appreciate what you are trying to do (affiliate advertising). Hope this works for you. We may as well purchase what we need from here or through your recomendations, rather than from someone else out there.
But, you can't do it on your own. There's a community here at GFB&B behind you both (20 years ... I'm impressed).

Consistant donations from us would help as well. Periodic donnations don't go unnoticed as well.

To me (my opinion) it's like showing up for dinner and not bringing anything to contribute to the meal. Give and Take. Yin and Yang. Both needs the other so that the both can exist.

Regards

John Hoita

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
