Latest threads news ticker
I thought it might be good to have our latest threads in news ticker form up the top of each page.
So, what do you think? Do you like it, or is it annoying? Before it gets asked, no, unfortunately I can't make it smoother... I can only make it slower or faster.
I think it's pretty neat, if you mouse over the thread title, the ticker will stop and you will see details of the threads... views, replies, thread starter, attachments, last poster etc... if you want to go to the thread, just click on the link.
Anyway, at this stage I have it set up so that it shows the last 30 threads, but that can be changed to make it more or less...
Just looking for some feedback.
Clancy

I'm using rss feed, so this is a bit redundant for me... But I suppose it's ok for somebody who doesn't use them... Speaking of rss, can you increase the number of latest threads shown in rss feed? I think there's 15 now... 20 or 25 maybe? Just a thought... It's not obligatory
Cheers

I'm not sure namiguShin. I'll have a look into it. I'm surprised anyone is using the feed. Which feed are you using? The whole forum feed, or a feed from a particular forum?

Very nice idea, I've seen lots of forums using different methods of showing the latest threads etc... but this is by far the best one yet.
Great job!

Another great feature. Maybe just make it a touch quicker though? What does anyone else think?

I'm a bit late... Sorry for that... I'm using the whole forum feed... And I must say I'm supprised to hear that it is rarely used... I use it always... Much more practical then surfing all the forums... But there's a risk if a thread is not that interesting in the beginning and gets more interesting later... Then you'll miss it... So I combine these two methods... And with subscriptions you get very efficient...
Don't bother about the number of threads, Clancy... It's good this way, too... I just thought if it is two mouse clicks for you... It's trouble? Leave it this way! And thanks for beeing so nice...
Cheers

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
