forum upgrade

Just wanted to let everyone know that we have just upgraded the forum here.

There are a few things that need looking into and changing (the spell checker function is currently not working and will need re-installing) - I could have done it while the forum was turned off but decided it wasn't a big enough deal to keep the forum offline. There are a couple of other things that need ironing out but they are small issues (I hope).

All should be running ok for general posting etc. If you are having problems of any kind, please post your issues in this thread and I'll look into them ASAP.

Thanks for your patience.

Clancy

Ok, all seems to be ok (I think) apart from the spell checker not working. I'll look into that tomorrow. It's too late for me tonight to get my brain around it.

Just realised (well it was brought to my attention) that in fact the spelling feature wasn't working for anyone apart from me oops.

I changed some permissions and now it should be working ok.

Sorry about that.

Miss steaks eye kin knot sea.
Eye strike a key and type a word

Ah, you guys are so silly LOL.

It's always been amazing to me that apparently as long as you have the first and last letter in the right place in a word the word is still readable. For example:

Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn’t mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

LOL, funny, I stupidly just started to try to spell check this post

Did you look over your shoulder to see if anyone noticed?

By the way, that's very interesting research!

Hehe, no, I'm not THAT silly? I have my back up against the wall so that can never happen.
