12 or 13s are fine on LP my preference for shorter scale guitars or 11s on 25.5 inch scales

If you have a strat I suggest that you adjust the trem tension, then intonate. Also check your action if its high you may be bending the note out of tune.

POts have no sound quality they are resistive not reactive. It amazes me when people go on about the improved sound quality of a pot. As said above if the the pot is not faulty then it wont have a sound.

And a little old guitarist from the sixties one J Hendrix is an example of this condition - in fact Purple haze was his perception of the E7#9 or so I have read.:)

you may want to go to a heavier guage string to ensure less buzz- let it settle in thene check the relief on the neck, set the action, tune and intonate.
