Tasty shred with SICK tone!

Little bagpipe feel to it with that droning F note in the background. Some really sweet tone here!

Need some help figuring this song out.

Having a hard time figuring out how to finger this I III VII of the A major scale (A,C#,G# root) progression here. You can clearly hear him sliding into the III chord, but I can't figure out how to chord this to play it smoothly. I can figure the notes (as it sounds like fingering the 5th fret b string and playin e open at the same time. Same note but one string is open and the other fingered giving it a bit of difference in the note) but I can't find a way to play it where it is easy and smooth.

Could it be a different tuning of sorts or am I just not approaching it right? I tried playing it differently on the neck but it was very difficult to get one of the root notes in so I'm saying that's not it for now.

The chorus goes I III VII I II III VII I(A,C#,G#,A,B,C#,G#,A) which is just bar chords and easy to figure. But the 1, 2 and 3 strings (High E, B, G) could possibly be altered to make the verse easy to play. I tried to find a tab on the web but none are accurate and one even suggested they were using delay however, one part is only played once and not repeated like the rest in the main riff.

I doubt the guitarist would keep clicking the delay on and off so much.

My attempt at blues.

I've been practicing quite a bit lately and though I'm still a bit on the sloppy side, I can tell I'm getting better. Though mostly pentatonic stuff, it's still fun!

I left some room in case any of you blues players care to add your flavor on it. Would be interesting to see how different people attack the same rythm.

Any advice on things to practice?

Kirk is a good man to do business with!

I had a problem with the PlaneTalk DVD not playing past a certain part and told Kirk about it. He sent me another copy without any hassles whatsoever! Thanks Kirk! The new DVD plays fine and nice slidin' at the end by the way :winkthumb:. Time to get busy. :smilinguitar:

I posted this in the Schecter thread, but it doesn't appear to be getting any views. One thing I've learned is, if you don't attach it in the first post of the thread, it's likely to get overlooked. Here it be....

I'm looking for feedback on how to get a better mix. The song is in it's foundation stage, and this is the basic skeleton of the song. There's so many different ways one could attack it with leads, and I'm still figuring out how to structure it. I added in a little bassline part to see how that works. It's times like these I wish I had a bass!

Should I add a bridge? Change it up a bit in some places? Leave it like it is?

Also, the little outro part was a little loud sounding. I had the amp cranked up pretty good and playing the song softly I suppose, and when I did the little outro part, it sounded a little rough.... maybe it's the mic because it didn't sound that rough to me playing it but it was louder.

Would compression take care of that? Or did I just attack the string too hard with my right hand?

I've thought about adding a vocal melody that just repeats a line in a few places something to the effect of "Would you like to see me, on a plane across the sea" Doesn't make a whole lotta sense, but it kinda fits.

I also got a 1/4 to 1/8 stereo adapter, so I can go straight in the puter as opposed to miking the amp, since the background noise can be a bit too much to get a good mix and the mic is a super cheapo lol. I downloaded a guitar fx program, so we'll see if that can make a better mix when I figure out how to use it lol.

Anyways, your feedback is appreciated and thanks for taking the time to listen to my stuff!
