Topics I've Started

Trying out some new gear on this track

14 March 2014 - 04:55 PM

I recently picked up a Tim overdrive pedal (and a few other bits and pieces).
Great pedal!

Randall Isolation Cab Test Recording

16 September 2013 - 10:24 AM

I've just arrived home with this about 40 minutes ago, set it up and made a quick recording with the cab. The idea behind it is that there will be a 30-40db reduction in volume when running an amp in at gig volumes - I can record with my amp driving the tubes hard and it will be no louder than the TV. My neighbours are pretty tolerant but sometimes it must be awful to live next door when I am playing my amp at gig volume to test something or create a new patch with my FX.
This is just a first take, hit record type thing. The mix down was just as fast.
Once the speaker is broken in and I play around with mic placement etc, I think I'll be able to get some fantastic results...and be able to do a lot more recording day and night.

Cole Clark 12-String

22 August 2013 - 08:21 AM

After wanting to buy a 12-string since my mid-teens, I have finally succeeded!
At 5pm this afternoon this beauty was handed over to me.
Can't wait to make some recordings and play a few gigs with it.
It is a Cole Clark Fat Lady 2, bunya top and rosewood back and sides, featuring the new AC3 pickup technology (piezo, facebrace sensor and internal mic).

Just an idea I have been working on in DADGAD tuning

16 November 2012 - 12:10 AM

Really love playing in this tuning. It gives me a feeling of Celtic music/romance/peace. I have only taken the sound from the camera's mic for this video just now - need to edit the video and bring in the actual processed tracks that I recorded with a the studio mic you can see in the video and the pickup in the guitar.
And the pickup is pretty amazing in the new Cole Clark guitars!

A bluesy patch I have been working on

02 July 2012 - 08:18 AM

With my DT-25 amp and POD HD500.
The playing is a little sloppy but I am pretty happy with the tone. The audio is just straight off the camera I used.
