Question   how things work....

Hi Clancy & Allthumbs

Can you tell me how (or if ) I can change or update my profile.

Also, could you tell me how the member rating works. I'm listed as newbe....will that change as I spent time and interact on the forum?

Just curious.

Thanks to you both and all that make this place so great!
Jason

click on "User CP" it's near the upper left area of the screen on
or if you can't find it use this link
thehttp://www.guitarforbeginners.com/forum/usercp.php
then there will be a column on the left hand side of the page called "Control Panel"
in it is listed "edit profile"

I think you probably stay newbie until you have 101 post, rather than the amount of
time you have been a member.

James,

The way I have it set up is that you are a newbie until you make 30 posts, after this you become a Member (which by coincidence happened just after you asked the question)... More than a hundred posts, you become a Full member, more than 300 posts, a Super member and after that... well I haven't decided on that yet

That's how I have things set up at the moment... If anybody has a better idea for user titles, I'm always open to suggestions. The above is just the forum default... just about everything/and anything can be changed if we can come up with something better or more original.

6string pointed you in the direction of the User CP. Hope you got all you wanted sorted out there.

Let me know if you didn't.

Clancy

I think it would be cool if the names were guitar related. Like you get 1000 posts you become a "Legendary Virtuoso" or something . For some of us (including myself) thats the only way we will ever be called a virtuoso.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
