  Quick Reply changes

After reading through this thread I have made a few changes to the Quick Reply box so that it now shows a some controls that have previously only been available when using the full reply option... eg. spell checker, the ability to insert a link etc. I have also included a link to the smilies.

I'm not sure how many members here actually use the Quick Reply (Kirk tells me he never does) but I'm sure it will be used more often now that there are more advanced options available. I use the Quick Reply just about all the time except when I want to use a particular smiley (when I can't remember the shortcut) or I want to add in a link. This should solve that problem for anyone who uses Quick Reply.

Hope this makes things easier.

Clancy

Another couple of things that may be worth mentioning;

To make the Quick Reply box bigger for a longer post, you can just click on the downward facing arrow on the upper right side of the Quick Reply box (right next to the ABC spell checker button). That will extend the box.

Also, if you want to quote somebody using the Quick Reply option, just click on the "Quick Reply" button on the member's post that you would like to quote, and then just click the box next to the "Quote message in reply?" underneath the Quick Reply box before you submit your post.... hope that makes sense.

Same here. I use it all the time unless I want to use one of those new fandangled smilies.

Thanks for the changes. I really like the Quick Reply feature on this site.

We all love you for it... oh and by the way. I never use the advanced option unless I cant remember the smileys shortcut...

for Clancy and Kirk

Thanks for that Clancy! I've always used the Quick Reply feature more than less and now thanks to your changes, I don't have to go into the advanced section to get smilies when I want them.

Nice one. I use Quick Reply more often than not. As for the smilies though, what's everyone got to be smiling about?

Thanks Clancy

Quick reply is a great option and it's even better now that you've added those other features.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
