Please help!
Hi! Sorry about this but for about the past 2 weeks now i've been having problems with the forums. For a while whenever i tried to access them a message came up saying the server is too busy. however, now, although that occasionally comes up, most of the time a blank page appears or it just goes straight back to the home page. it has taken me half an hour to try and post this and the smilies aren't working either. Can you help me?
Sorry for any trouble.
Tink

Hi Tinkerbell,
I'm not sure what that could be. Kirk and I have had a bit of trouble accessing the site on and off over the last two days... but I put it down to my ISP (in Australia) as nobody else had reported the site being slow or hard to reach.
I know we did have some downtime last week (can't remember what day it was now though).
The smilies not working could mean a javascript problem. Were they working before for you? Have you changed your browser recently? Have you changed your ISP? Sometimes ISP's block sites for some reason. This has happened to me a few times. It might be worth a call to your ISP to see if they can spot the problem. Other than that, maybe try clearing your cache, logging out and then logging back in again.
Hope that helps. Let me know if you continue to have problems. If you can't get onto the site, you can always email me at clancy at guitarforbeginners.com.
Cheers
Clancy

Yeah, been a bit flaky on and off from here too. Had some trouble with the 's at odd times, but nothing a 'refresh' of the page doesn't fix.

You could try a "ping www.guitarforbeginners.com" at the command prompt. If you get a good response (mine is 47ms) it's not the network.

I turned a few plugins off. Is it running faster now?

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
