Your guitar note tuner needs to be set up so that it repeats itself, while the person tuning their guitar can match the note without going back to the mouse or keyboard and hitting the chord string again and again.

This isn't the solution but I was kind of bored so I tried an experiment and used my Mouse as a foot pedal and used the tuner I can now click any of the strings as often as I want and contently tune my guitar, I've got so good at it that I can scroll up and down, right and left click and have both hands free for typing or playing my guitar and my feet get a free work out, does sound a bit mad but it was fun having a go, necessity is the Mother of invention as they say don't Know how easy it is for Clancy to change the tuner to repeat, might not be that easy

There you go ... I reckon you could use your elbow too.
It would be a good idea, tombob, I agree, but then I'd need start stop buttons, or to make it play the note three or four times. One way or the other it involves clicking the mouse.
Also, it's good to train the ear ... to really listen to that note and remember it after it's faded.
Also I forgot how I made that thing or where the raw file is to tweak my memory.

Hi again Tomtob, I agree with Kirk he's vastly more experienced than I am, it's good to learn by ear and also always handy to have a Chromatic Tuner around when you're learning to get the hang of it, for now though this will help it's a link to Fretsource's tuner it will repeat for you and it's also handy for alternate chords if you fancy doing them, hope this helps doing the mouse with your feet though is a laugh but not the ideal solution for everyone

Left or right foot Chris? Or are you ambi-pedic? I have no idea if that is even a word!

I used my right foot Carol don't know if that's a word but it sounds good, if you're at a loose end have a go it's a bit of fun, on a serious note the post did get me thinking about how computers and guitar equipment can be or is set up for people with disabilities so I'm doing a bit of research on that as equipment seems primarily designed for people who don't have any problems
Best Wishes
Chris

There is also Fretsource's multi-tuner that you could have a look at.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
