GFB&B chat room ad hijacked me
I was just in the chat room and an ad came up that kicked me out of the room and started running a "virus" check... said I was infected and it would scan for free.
Sounds like a wonderful way to get infected to me... when an ad takes over your browser like that. Just thought you might want to talk to userplane about it.

Well in case it grabs any of our users... you need to close the window out, using the three fingered salute if necessary. (Control/alt/delete)
You may indeed be infected... but that website isn't running a scan for you. Trend Micro HouseCall - Free Online Virus and Spyware Scan - Trend Micro USA is a good, reputable virus scan if you think your infected... not these guys. They want to sell you something under false pretenses.
Best if you feel your clean to just close the window and reopen your browser fresh and rejoin the chat room.

It's just a popup ad that doesn't actually infect you. If you click yes, it could probably install some malware(spyware). But it won't give you an actual virus.

My mother in law caught one of these "anti-virus specials" called Virus Heat, and it was a real pain in the rear area until I got it removed, flashing up gay porn and other undesirables.
The real harm in that program was that it needed your credit card number to install the program to remove the crap they put on the machine. You don't want folks like that in possession of your CC#.
