There was a DDOS attack on Lunarpages.com, which is where we have our dedicated server. It was just around 1AM our time as we were heading off to bed, so I don't know how long it lasted.

(DDOS stands for Dedicated Denial Of Service ... someone maliciously uses software to make it seem like tens of thousands of visitors are coming to the target server, overloading it and shutting it down ... Clancy can explain better).

No Kirk, I can't explain it better - just that DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service I think, not Dedicated Denial Of Service (but I could be wrong ) ... It all seems to be under control now... let's just hope it stays that way...

... by the way the PlaneTalk site is now on this server, so if our server is having problems, that forum will be down as well... it's been pretty reliable up until now... so fingers crossed that it stays that way.
