Downloading lesson videos
Hi Clancy I have a quick question regarding the video lessons which I like to download once and watch a hundred times till I understand the lesson thoroughly. With the new software change and the new videos (which are better quality), I no longer can right click on the link to save it to my hard drive! Is there anything you can do? Thank you for all your hard work on the site

I can't seem to find the file you mentioned, could you help point out exactly where I would find it? Thanks!

I'm not sure if Kirk has uploaded the wmv file for the latest lesson, but for all the other lessons, just scroll down to the bottom on the thread and you'll see the attached files. There should be a gp4 file a mp3 file and the wmv video file.

Clancy, thank you so much for solving my problem downloading. It is sometimes frustrating having the limitations of a Mac but I still prefer my Mac. Everything is downloading fine and the quality was well worth the switch to flash. So relieved and again thankful that you are so kind and efficient!

Hi Sam and Pam,
just jump in and start with learning to play a few chords to make a tune eg Kirk's "Beginners Lessons" that kick off with 3 lessons on Knocking on Heaven's Door,
and maybe an 'easy' lesson or two (eg Easy version of Silent Night or 'Easy' version of Over the Rainbow) and before you know it you'll be playing like a pro, with callouses on your fingers and everything

Hi Sam, I didn't mean to say it was easy, I know it's not easy - I can remember what it was like, but you'll be amazed what a few weeks can do. Like I said, there are some quite easy lessons here to start you off. The Knocking on Heaven's Door for learning chords and strumming, and the 'easy' Silent Night for playing a tune are good places to start, especially if you don't have a teacher to give you things to practice. Everyone here at this site is somewhere on a learning curve, it's just that some of us have been on it a bit longer. Good luck with your playing - you can do it!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
