I don't know about top ten, but my absolute two favorite are of course:

ZZ Top -- La Grange

Derek and the Dominoes -- Layla

I guess The Beatles -- Day Tripper is nice too.

I think anyone that answers that quesion should also post a clip containing their playing of the riffs.

I'll go along with that fly135,

I'll put a couple down and then get practicing. This I promise. (I know I've said it before)

Life's been good--Joe walsh

Wishing Well--Free

Wish you were here--Pink floyd

Boom Boom--John Lee Hooker

Loads more, but it's 5.45am and I can't think. Will get these recorded. THIS WEEK!:isaynothing::smilinguitar:

Apart from the riffs that are usually in the "best of" categories like Smoke On The Water, Sunshine Of Your Love, and Layla, I thought I'd put down others that I like but not necessarily in any order:

Turn It Down - SWEET

Back In Black - ACDC

Sweet Home Alabama - LYNYRD SKYNYRD

Do You Feel Like I Do? - PETER FRAMPTON

Walk This Way - AEROSMITH

Panama - VAN HALEN

Don't Fear The Reaper - BLUE OYSTER CULT

Thunderstruck - ACDC

The Ocean - LED ZEPPELIN

Purple Haze - JIMI HENDRIX

"I'll put a couple down and then get practicing. This I promise. "

I'll do the same. YouToo, if sound comes out of your guitar then you're ruled in. This is GF"Beginners"&B. You're not expected to be great or even good. Unlike YouTube where they bash the heck out of you unless you're fantastic.

Thanks Doug, now it's your turn to post a song or three. Also everybody should post something. I get more inspiration out of hearing beginners play a song than the professionally done songs that are clearly out of my reach.

OK fly135' I'll dig out my free time and get my girl to do the honours of recording. I sort out my fav's. and get to work. Does this mean I got to do some "lead" thats me going belly up then. gimme a day or so, I've got practice with the band the next two night's. But buddy I'm on the case.:escape::guitarguy:

Fly that was cool, and a great idea to post riffs.

Let me see if I get a chance this week and I will put a few up namely White Stripes and blue orchid, Sunshine of your love and Bad Penny from Rory Gallagher

Hmm....I think I'll add 3 or 4 at a time. Gotta think about this.

Also, I may try to put them to audacity and post 'em...if I can remember the ones I like.

Starting with

"Free Ride" Edgar Winter

"25 or 6 to 4" Chicago

"How Far is Heaven" Los Lonely boys

"Rock n Roll Hoochie Coo" Rick Derringer

That's a start. Now I gotta get work on playing them without embarrassing myself!!:smilinguitar:

Ooooh dear....Looking at the four I listed, only one is within the last 25 years!!! Am I getting old or WHAT!!!

Hey Jase, thanks for throwing out "Up around the Bend". I started learning it last night. I'll post a few licks when I get it down a little better.

Master of Puppets is probably my favorite to crank up when I feel like venting. Here's a tidbit- sloppy and rushed playing and all.I can't help getting nervous when that record button goes on....

I don't know how accurate it is since I just learned it by ear,and I'm no Kirk Hammet so you won't hear any blistering solos:crying2:
