How many guitars do you have?

Recommended Posts

Rockerbob - do you buy/sell/horsetrade any of your guitars when you get new ones, or do you hang on to all of 'em?

I keep them, at least for the past 20 years.

lol Stratrat,

you know how it is. there's always one calling your name when you go to get strings or whatever.

I've been eyeing an Epi elitist LP or the Epi Joe Perry Boneyard for over a year now...

and these forums don't help the G.A.S. attacks either do they?

They don't help one little bit! :)

Yep, I know how it is. I hate walking into GC for strings, accessories, etc. because I just CAN'T go in there without checking out all the guitars! One thing leads to another, and the next thing you know I'm standing at the counter with a guitar in one hand and the Visa card in the other.......

I'm pretty well set right now. I still want a Thinline Tele and a nicer acoustic one of these days, but I'm going to work on my chops and do justice to the stuff that I already have first! The gear that I already own is capable of so much more than the "knob behind the guitar" at this point...... :D

I know I've been here before ....

More than I need, less than I want.

The most recent acquisition was a Gretsch BST 1000 solid body rocker. That was five or six weeks ago. I think that ties me with allthumbs at ten. Not counting banjo's, mandolins......

I am in the market ..... again ...... much to my spouses chagrin. There's a song in there somewhere. I just know it.

I feel another hollow body coming on....... yeah, a Harmony Rocket. Red. I'm just a sucker for red guitars! ;)

I' ve got Five

A Yamaha FG 312 (The best I have at the moment)

An Encore Electro/Acoustic (I'm going to use this as a slide guitar)

A Hokada Classical guitar

I just bought a 3/4 size folk guitar which I can use as a travel guitar, it's 40 years old and in near mint condition I'm cleaning it up at the moment.

I'm one of these people that likes to rescue guitars.

I also have my first guitar which I bought for £3 when I was 11, my Mum wouldn't buy me one or give me the money to buy one so I used my paper round money and got one from a Junk shop, It sat in my mums attic for 30 years but I recently found it there and I'm going to patch it up for old times sake.

I feel quite inferior reading this thread some of these guys are in a different dimension

Just an old guy, with some stuff which I enjoy. Since joining the site my playing has got much better. Thanks to Kirks lessons and Plane Talk. I enjoy seeing everybody's stuff. There are some I let go and I am sorry I did.

Les,

I love that big red.

Here is one I bought from Steve(smort) when I first started playing.

Its a 12 fret 12 string made in mexico. It has a harpsicord sound, absolutly priceless.

This is back in the 70's

Only 3.. :(

I have a cheap strat copy and an ESP Ex-50 with EMG ZW 81-85's. I also have a really old yamaha acoustic that my mom played back in the 60's and 70's. I'm looking to add a BC-rich Mockingbird Special X and maybe a cheap bass and bass amp this summer.

A couple of days ago I had 3, but am now back down to 2. I have a tradition of keeping my GAS from getting out of hand by giving some away to relatives on a regular basis. I was giving my Washburn to one of my brothers on Monday, which meant that I'd have nothing to play slide on, so I ran out and grabbed a Fullerton before stocks ran out.

Aside from that, I have a Les Paul Jr. which I upgraded with a Jason Lollar P90.

Speaking of GAS, where'd you get the Fullerton please? I am more and more interested with each post I read..lol #9
