Which song would you like to have written?

Recommended Posts

Well, I'm not sure if everyone feel the same, but for some tunes I sometimes just think "Man... I wish I'd written this".. can't really explain why, or how, it's a rather odd feeling.

Anyone else who may know it?

The one song I REALLY feel like that about from time to time, is 'Hey you' by pink floyd... Not sure why, but it might be because it totally fits me. Gee, hope I don't sound too strange now.. :P

Little MArtha (because its just such a happy tune!)

Blackbird (just because everyone loves and knows it)

Think About Your Troubles (Nilsson..nuff said)

Way too many in my head......:dunno:

Just about ANY Beatles song! :)

Strawberry Fields, A Day in the Life and Hey Jude are 3 that come immediately to mind.

If instrumentals count, Riviera Paradise or Lenny by SRV.

Of course instrumentals count, instrumentals are lovely. ;)

Another song that come to mind for me is Opeth - The drapery falls... ah, I love that song.

I think I'd like to have written "Brown Sugar".

To me, that has to be one of the ultimate rock songs ever written....simple, raunchy, and one of the greatest riffs ever written.

And, it is played in an open "G" tuning....even cooler.

Stairway would be the ultimate just for the "immortality factor".

Besides that, a few others come to mind:

Funeral/Love Lies Bleeding - Elton John

Battle of Evermore - Zeppelin

The Trees - Rush

Rock Lobster - B-52's (just such a cool, fun song!)

I have to wonder what Billie Holiday thought would happen when she wrote and sang Strange Fruit for the first time. This was during a time when she could have easily been killed for such a song. Very courageous, and the lyrics are impressive.

Way too many choices to pick from!
