The 7 (or more) string owner club

I just picked up my ESP/LTD H-1007 today and rather than just making a post to show it, I thought I'd invite any other extended range instrument owners to post theirs. 7's, 8's, 10's, 12's all welcome!

Now I can start playing some Amon Amarth. For some reason, it feels lighter than my 6 string, and not neck heavy at all like I've heard sometimes 7's can be.

And if you look carefully in the corner, my Jackson wants to be in the picture too!

The advantage of the low B string (or A depending on how you tune it) gives you an extended range. It takes some getting used to the 7th string if you're sweep picking or strumming. I don't know if it's just me, but I tend to use my thumb to mute the 7th string in order to avoid hitting it.

I got a great deal on a Washburn WG-587 Metallic Red 7 string. Very inexpensive, and nice lookin' too. :winkthumb:

It was already set up right out of the carton, and the finish = virtually flawless. Here's reviews and comments.

Last I knew, black (dark grey) and red were the only color choices. The company I ordered from had gotten a special deal with Washburn, to have Washburn resume production of the 587 for them exclusively. :online2lo

PS The Ant Farm photo isn't mine, I found it online. My guitar is the same color (and same model, of course). I was looking for the receipt but haven't found it. I bought mine around 2005; I think Music123 was the seller. ;)
