Making the most out of PlaneTalk?

The book sounds interesting, but it will be a little while before I have extra cash to spend.

What would be helpful knowledge to have going into it? Is it more of an alternative to playing scales, or does it build off them? If it's the latter, what scales should I learn?

Thanks much!

Eric

Hi, emart, I'll keep this brief as I'm in a Internet cafe right now, but if you're familiar with the basic chord shapes, you'll be fine. Scales don't come into it directly, so you need not worry about them. It's all about 'seeing' the fretboard in such a way that you don't have to think about scales, just music, melody.
