Life has a way of takin you by surprise
It can change the veiw right in front of your eyes
You've got to take lifes hand and live everyday
Just let the pieces of the puzzle fall where they may

(chorus)
You've got to roll with the punches keep your head up high
don't go back to the life that you left behind
now its your turn to take back what's yours
its your time now to even up the score

you can't change now all the things that he did
please don't dwell on the stupid shit that she said
don't be a victim of their foolish games
and stay trapt and locked inside of your pain

(chorus)

I wish I could have heard callin for me
I would have put an end to all your misery
But you kept it locked inside you living in fear
and the cries for help i just couldnt hear

(chorus)

I'm sorry for the pain you had to endure
At an age so young, with a heart so pure
Now you're becoming a man, you need to rise above
I'll be right here beside you with all of my love

(chorus)

This was actually a poem i wrote trying to see with it broke down like this if it would work for a song .....

Okay so I have tinkered around with the guitar on this one trying to come up with the way it could flow. Not sure if this would work or not but kinda the idea I was thinking. Have the verses a little slow and then picking it up for the chorus a little and then back down for the verses again. I'm not much on the guitar yet but just throwing it out there for an idea if there are any takers.

Excellent job I thought from both sides there. The lyrics have a similar overall feel to that song by Jimmy Eat World that I did a cover of, 'The Middle', except these lyrics are a lot more involved. And Sheraton, I thought you matched the music real good to the mood of the lyrics.

Sounds brill to me.

Gordon.

i think you may be spot on there Gordon, i forget exactly how the lyrics for 'the middle' go. going to try and find your version now.
certainly i remember hearing your version and thinking it was (as always) good listening, good excuse for another listen or 2 or 3.

Paul....
