Recommended Posts

As i´m playing only at home in my little office where the PC is located, i searched the web for software to apply some effects on my guitar while playing.

The ultimate software i found until now is:

Guitar Rig 2

Downloaded a demo and this is fantastic  .

Sadly i can´t afford bying the full version for 399 Euros :( .

Before i also tried:

Guitar FX

Guitar FX Box

Reverberator :thumbup1: .

Does anyone know other (preferably freeware) programs that

could do the job?

I've used Guitar Fx too, and I found it to be good enough :)

I had a link to a few software utilities for effects, I'll just search them and let ya know:)

Take care Pal !!!

Warmest Regards

Kush

this thread is worthless now, as i have bought a

Behringer V-Amp2 today :clap::eek::yes::thumbup1::wow:

This part is really amazing ! 125 sound presets, with the

ability to download new presets from the web and no more annoying

latences. Couldn´t stop trying all the presets and played almost

til my fingers bled tonite.

Yeehaaaa.

I have a sound card with plenty of latency... can't be worse...:reallymad:

I heard for something called ASIO... it's someting about latency....:dunno:

Can somebody explain me what's that?

I really must write that piece on latency,ASIO,etc to sticky - maybe when I get a good quiet spell....

Ok, for an explanation of ASIO read this page, in the links section you will find a link to ASIO4ALL, a universal ASIO driver that works with most soundcards.

If you download and install that, go to start> all programs>ASIO4ALLv2> ASIO$ALLv2 offline settings there you will find a control panel like this:

Asiopanel.jpg

Try to get the ASIO buffer size down to as near 64 samples as you can get without getting any glitches, pops or crackles and you should be set... Also make sure any audio program or virtual amp you use is set to use ASIO4ALL as the driver interface then you should be fairly latency free. :winkthumb:

Try it and see , be sure to shout if need any more help :D
