I just purchased a Yamaha FG-401 used from my local music store, and I've been trying to do some research on it but have so far been unable to find out anything. I hope someone here can be of some help.

I'm also looking for information on what these guitars usually go for. I'm just interested because I got a great deal on it, and I'd really like to know how good it actually was.

Thanks

Try looking in Harmony central user reviews.

I have an FG 312, the FG's are very reliable, the FG 401 falls into the collectable category as they're not available in the U.S.A. anymore, a reliable guitar so still collectable, prices on this side of the Atlantic range from 65 sterling, seen some on ebay for sale for over $200 so if you came in under that it's cool and a good investment.

Thanks for the help, I actually got mine for $75 which I thought was a steal. It seems to be of good quality, and i'm having some fun with it.

Pleasure Berlu, I'm into guitar history, I spend a lot of time in junk shops looking for Gems, nice guitar at a good price, I'd never part with my Yamaha they're made to last.

Best Wishes

Chris
