Of course there is a story that goes with this

Ok I think I mentioned that I was going to check out this new

music store in town, with opening specials.

so Friday morning we head down my to the shop with my fiancee

Sure enough there were a few specials, no Schecters in sight

then we spotted the Ibanez SZ320, normal Aussie price is $995AU

reduced to $249.

Keeping in mind that that Schecter 006 Extreme is $549

Ok normally I research before I buy anything, so I was I little

hesitant about getting it.

Not risking going back home in the fear of losing the last one there

we decided to buy it.

Though it was a bit easy seeing the Duncan/ibanez pickups and the

sheer quality of it all, most important thing of all was the huge price drop.

So we forked over the $249 plus $18 for a gig bag and heading to the other music shop to pickup the Vox AD30VT we had on laybuy

with the money we had left over from purchasing the Ibanez.

we went home and quickly set up the guitar for a playtest, then

checked to see if this guitar was really $995 on the net.

Sure enough it was that retail price though some shops were selling it at around $600 none was even close to $249.

Then checked the reviews high 9s out of 10s from Ultimate guitar

and harmony central, then we really knew we had a bargain.

I hav'nt had much time to have a proper go at the guitar as we had to go out for the day and night. its now about 4.45am in the morning

yet to go to bed.

I had to tell you the good news, will post some more pictures later today. need to change my sig again then get a well earned rest.

see you later today

P.S. YIPPPEEE ! :yeahhh:

Congrats - it's always a great feeling to bring a new guitar/amp home. You'll love the Vox amp - I have that exact same amp and its definitely a keeper.

It's a keeper for sure Stratrat

A huge varity of tones available, still getting to grips with it

Also got the footswitch for $10, much to learn

At least now I can start on the actual hands on learning stage.

I've setup a soundclick home page to store my audio online

no samples yet for you to hear though

I still need to organise guitar lessons, will try and get 1 or 2 lessons

a fortnight, with plenty of homework. and also plan do plenty of

lessons from this site.

I've got a big long road of learning and practicing ahead

but with the forum members help and advice,

it will make that bumpy journey a lot smoother.

Thanks

TigerKraw

Wellcome to the (unofficial) circle of Ibanez owners!

Since you really want something aggresive, you should have gone for an RG with sharktooth inlays or if that's not enough...XIPHOS!!!!

Thanks Hermanli

Yes its a bit more less agressive than the Schecter, I swapped

aggressive for the Set neck, the Mohogany Stock, the

Duncan/ibanez pickups and the overall quality upgrade.

most of all the price of $249AU compared to the

Schecter Omen Extreme of $549AU, makes the

Ibanez SZ320 too good to pass up.

Beautiful TigerKraw! Looks like you'll be all set. I just got a Schecter C-1 Elite, and I absolutely love the tone, the sustain, and the coil tapping! Oh, and did I say that I love the finish!!

Schecter makes a very nice guitar. Nice amp too! I know you're going to be a very happy camper!!

Thanks Pastor Bob & thanks Jess

Yes Schecter is a great brand very underated compared to

Gibson and Fender especially with the C-1 models. and I was

very close getting the entry level 006 extreme. until the

Ibanez sz320 came up on a huge price markdown. that was it.

I do like the SZ320 in a way it reminds me of a C-1 Schecter

We will be adding another guitar to the household soon,

my Fiancee "Sandy" will be getting a Sunburst Strat

so we can go to guitar lessons together.

Our Family is growing :)

Best Wishes From

TigerKraw & Sandy

Hi Jess

No she is a touch more mellow than me, though we are both not

really modern metal, we like the old stuff like

Judas Priest, Deep Purple, Def Lepard,AC/DC & Iron Maiden.

they are more our styles, though I do like Nightwish, just about the only

newer type metal band I really go for.

Sandy and I both are 47 years old and grandparents to boot

so we tend to hang on to our old songs from our teenage years

to make us feel young again. :yeahhh:

Take care from

Grandpa TigerKraw &

Grandma Sandy :claping:

I'm surprized you acually like European power metal. I suggest you listen to some Finntroll or Blind Guardian, they're sorta like Nightwish but not exactly. Thats my favorite style next to hardcore/grindcore/metalcore and death metal.

I'm just trying to picture you playing an aggresive shredder guitar.

I'm just trying to picture you playing an aggresive shredder guitar.

I'm still trying to picture it myself lol:dunno:

I'm sure there are plenty of 50+ year olds out there who can shred

I'm just not one of them yet

will get a photo or a video done when I can do it.

hopefully before the year 2020

Thanks
