Three words only?

Could get lonely

A message too

And make'm rhyme?

Is that cheating?

Hard to know

More questions here

Than answers true.

Have a heart

I'm trying hard

Its not easy!

'Don't get queasy'

Is the message

To take home

(More for me

Than readers few).

Got my stanzas

In a pickle

Do they rhyme

Enough to count?

I'm not sure -

You can judge

Give a nickel

Not a punch.

Excuse my small diversion

A perversion set in rhyme

This different style, made me smile

Oh the joy of a vertical line

I shall refrain

Again I won't

Partake in such a folly

I tend to find

Sometimes my mind

Finds daft things

Rather Jolly

A line as such is a beautiful thing

Though bends are graceful to

Most daft things are jolly

Never meant to be Blue

And if you find this rambling

Take heart I am near the end

Of lines and bends and jolly

While talking with a friend

Knight from Alabama

Can cram a line in anywhere

This thread will be notorius

The rhymes they are serene

Some lines are rather glorious

And none of them obscene

I thought that you'd gone AWOL, Kenny

Bending brain cells over there

In that thread where all or many

Views on lyrics and poems are said.

'Hard to say' is what I'm thinking

Many people disagree, (but)

I'm just happy to have options

Aren't we lucky thought is free.

Howdy Knight, so glad you've joined us

Jolly nice to see you here

I like your choice of words as well -

'Bends' and 'grace' and 'beauty' take me

Back to days of younger year.

I'm just back from the guitar store

And best of all (because I'm tight)

It cost me nothing, advice was free

And now my guitar's sounding right.

I notice that I've come adrift

I've broken free of rigid rhyme

Long gone the Limerick, but now I find

I've lost control of all the lines.

I told some friends, Chris

Of our challenge-

Playing left et-cet-ar-a

And how you said

That at the moment

You were toiling in my wake

They responded - (Oh so funny!)

'Was that in, or at my wake?'

:)

It would seem this thread

Has taken flight

To places often dreamt of

We ride on

Star light Sailing ships

Masts Strung tight

With 4 to Drive

And Carols from above to guide us.

Across the net

We surf with ease

From England and America

To the far flung Antipodes

Lines of words written with cheer

Float up into the Atmosphere

Then tumble down to our PCs

Threads still moving what can I say

time for some direction how about we play

some sort of game...a challenge OK

The continuing poem slash song

lyrics from us all to move it along

one line at a time is fine

next to play decides when to rhyme

if your game I'll show no shame

and get this off to a start with this little bitty part

The willow tree was dancing ever so gently in the breeze....

Was it weeping? I don't think so, looked more likely it would sneeze!

Sorry, that was very, very silly, :hammers: I'll try to be serious......

Do you want this to be a serious attempt at writing a song? I think we should have at least some idea of what we are trying to do here before we start (sorry it doesn't rhyme).

Carol, Carol, Carol, have you ever known me not to be serious? lol

Your right I/We should define the goal....I'm good either way, as to continuing the fun or trying to get serious and do it up proper...what cha thinking?

Edit: I'm off to lala land so I'll see tomorrow what you all think!

The willow tree was dancing ever so gently in the breeze....

While elvies and fairies played below

I thought they were just stories read from books on grandma's knees

Dew Drops adorned her branches

Like diamonds glowing bright

{sorry knight, I added to your line to work in my mind, let me know if it doesn't work for you guys}

Sorry I’ve been absent, friends

Sometimes we can’t always choose

How we spend our time most wisely-

Then, back-seat, the writing muse.

I am watching from afar

As you all progress,

You’ve been busy, that I see-

How your words and thoughts impress!

Elves and fairies, there are plenty

Knights and sailors, less

Quite a serious venture this

Not like my usual mess.

This requires some heavy thought,

Not enough, my casual jest-

Quite a challenge, I would say,

Quite a mental torture test.

Thinking time is what is needed

On my part at least,

How to come to terms and tackle

Such an awesome beast……………….

Carol, We're the blind leading the blind :laughingg:

America wouldn't of been discovered if Columbus used us for directions...lol

I shuffled it up some...what cha all think?

A new sunrise dries weeping leaves while songbirds sing sweet melodies

The willow tree was dancing............................ ever so gently in the breeze

{spoken} While elvies and fairies played below

Dew Drops adorned her branches Like diamonds glowing bright

that appeared to me..............................In the twilight of the night

{spoken} prism-like reflections lit the show

I thought they were just stories read from books on grandma's knee

And I watched them chase their shadows......... as they began to flee

{spoken} and I knew it was time for me to go
