This is a vid I did for my son who lives away from home and is learning guitar via youtube.
It's not very good, but I thought it may be of some help to people having some trouble with the F chord, or bar chords.

I can't work out how to embed it, so click on the link.

Hey, I like that, the F chords been bugging me for a while, and anything that may help is welcome and I think could be it.

Nice one Skinny. Would you mind if I made this thread a sticky?

Not very good!? It's well done, my friend. Thanks for helping out. This is great.

Thanks Steve, my son say's it's helping him, so it's all good.

OldG, Thankyou too, the guitar is a 50th B/Day present from my wife and kids. I was given a budget and told to "go get it". I reckon I played 30 guitars over three months before settling on this one (probably picked up 100).
It's by no means the most expensive, and I'm really impressed that you could detect the "sweetness" from that clip.

Cheers,
Skinny.

Can't get over the flexibility you have in your finger joints. All I need is some of that and I'll be all set!

Tom, as Stratrat pointed out, it's just practice. You'll be Ok.
Pathfinder, if you keep playing the guitar, flex in your fingers will just "happen". Keep at it!

Neil,
That was a very well done and informative video. I think many will enjoy that. I certainly did.
Even brought out some names I haven't seen here before.

Nice vid!

F chords often make me say a word or two that start with the letter F. :)

Lately what I've been trying to force myself to do is to make my F chords with my index finger across all three treble strings, instead of just the bottom two. That way I can make an F minor just by lifting my middle finger off. It's not easy, though, and it's a harder transition from some other chords; like from C.

Don't know if that's a useful idea to anyone else, but I thought I'd put it out there.

Hi Skinny, I don't think I saw this first time around. Great video! So what was the guitar you bought? I couldn't tell from the video.
