Times Get Rough
Times Get Rocky,
Nothing to be depressed about
hold your head a high
you got a lot to be proud of,
only if the world could see it,
you are the one who shines up
my life,the one who i will never foreget
when you leave,ill hang my head and cry.

Hero,

...just a tip from one who has been in love for 35 years...

When you write a poem to give to the one you love, write from depths of your own heart and not from the heart of others.

I'm certainly no poet but that sounds like pretty sage advice from IC, Hero.

As a practical comment, don't forget to check your dictionary. Good luck with the girl.

just be honest and say what you really mean--forget about things like appearing cool or being stoic or something, if you care about her-tell her and tell her why---the truth is the strongest way to say something.

You remind me of me, only a better-writer alternate universe version of me.

There should so be a love poem/song thread.

Coming in a little late here, and even though Golden Girl has a nice feel, I would agree to go with the first advice given. Its YOUR Heart and YOUR Girl and whatever passes between your hearts has to be as genuine as Gods Dawn lest she ever finds out that she fell in love with some else's words. And that would be a pain too tragic for the telling, Chords too painfull bear as a mighty heart was felled in the the lie.

Believe me Hero LOVE has EVERYTHING to do with the GUITAR.
I once had a teacher who asked me a simple question.. Why did I choose the Guitar.
I responded by saying, Because you can pick it up, sit it on your knee and basically, cuddle it. It is a very Intimate relationship. And since I have taught myself to play in the Classical Finger Style, I now find the relationship even more Intimate.

Ps, Ps,
Getting a bit carried away on this one. Please forgive. My Muse has to battle with some serious Health problems and I am forever Going DOH!! Why did'nt I think of that before. My last piece of advice on this is to simply drop this line,
============
only if the world could see it,
=====================
The WORLD Does not need to see it. YOU See it and THATS ALL She needs to know!!!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
