Nobody Cares Anymore

Folks,

This is one I've had for a couple years. I pulled it out tonight and made a few changes. I'd like your thoughts on this one. (If you want to read the original lyrics, I'll send them via PM or email... as a point of reference) I'll leave the reference to Three Sheets to your imagination!

Anyway, here are the re-written lyrics and tonights recording.

First draft recording .....

Anyway,

Nobody Cares Anymore (Formerly - Summer Weeds)
Chapman Jones - ASCAP 07062006

Verse 1
I spend my summer days thinking
Wondering if the ship I'm on is sinking
I'll never know 'til the water
Splashes on my knees
I'll have to take off my boots
and put on my ski's

Chorus
Is the world as crazy as they say it is
Roundy round a whirly-gig, spinning in the wind
Nobody seems to care about nobody anywhere
They only want to take
And never want to share

Verse 2
Well, the times have changed since John Kennedy
No more cold war, no more world of sympathy
We're terrorized by empty eyes
That never seem to blink
And agonise over empty lies
Someone thought to think

Chorus
Is the world as crazy as they say it is
Roundy round a whirly-gig, spinning in the wind
Nobody seems to care about nobody anywhere
They only want to take
And never want to share

Verse 3
A young girl wrapped a package over yonder
Clickety crashing rolling springtime thunder
Strapped it to her chest
They say that she was blessed
Blew up a dozen people
For the sake of the rest

Chorus
Is the world as crazy as they say it is
Roundy round a whirly-gig, spinning in the wind
Nobody seems to care about nobody anywhere
They only want to take
And never want to share

**
As always, thanks for getting this far.

Les

For my 2 cents worth Bro, I think you can come up with something better just here. The 2 opening lines and the rest suggest I am Right. I was immediatealy captured by the ..Terrorized By Empty Eyes etc. and feel a deep empathy with what your soul is singing as it is deeply in concert with my own thoughts about modern day society. Spiteful selfish devolving species, Humans who have LOST thier Humaneness!!

I would say just the line about skis. The levity doesn't fit with the rest of the tune since it is the only line pointing in that direction. Other than that, I think you did a great job. Thumbs up.

Hi Les,
Downloaded the audio and was most pleasantly surprised. Great piece of work. If you had a CD of stuff like this I would buy it. Seriously impressed bro.
Cheers
