Where Are You Mama
Where are You Mama?
Chorus
Where are you Mama
Your little boy is now a man
Where are you Mama
Your love made me who I am
I want to tell you
All those things I left unsaid
Where are you Mama
[V1]
Where are you Mama
I feel you sitting next to me
Where are you Mama
I know your hand is on my knee
But you don't know me
And it breaks my heart to say
Where are you Mama
[V2]
For all those years
You cooked and cleaned
And loved us for ourselves
You never asked for anything
You always gave to someone else
I have so much to tell you
And all that I can say is
Where are you Mama
Chorus
Where are you Mama
Your little boy is now a man
Where are you Mama
Your love made me who I am
I want to tell you
All those things I left unsaid
Where are you Mama
Where are you Mama

Where's this coming from Knight your on fire, this is completely different to the other song IMO, as it's dealing with different emotions, another nice one though, what kind of tune are you thinking of for this one Knight? and how many more have you got up your sleeve?
Cheers
Chris

Chris, Eddie and Doug,
Thanks for taking the time to read.
A lot going on these days, I actually wrote this one in about 30 minutes just before posting. Not real polished, but something that I had to get partially off of my mind.
I am looking at an Am - Em - G - F progression, tried to record last night but recording problems stalled the effort.
Thanks again for the comments.

Hi Knight
I only have one little grate with this song this of course is just my opinion though , V1 is so simular to the chorus and V2 isn't ..
My suggestion would be to alter v1 to be more like v2 and then add a bridge before V2 just for a break . In my opinion V1 has way too much "Where are you mama " , leave that for the chorus .
Just my humble opinion though

Liked your lyrics Knight46. I agree with Hilch on the changes he suggested for verse1.
Am I reading this right to say that she's there but maybe has alzheimers or something and doesn't know you? Or am I missing something? I always like the story behind the song. Jomi spoiled me!!!!

Knight,
Very nice lyric. Is there a story behind the lyric? That would of course set the mood for the tune.

Thanks Eddie, I think that there is a story behind almost all music. My mother is in the "sundown" of Alzheimer's and when I am with her I find myself asking (to myself) if she is still in there somewhere and where she might be. Alzheimers seems to be a disease that effects the family more than the patient, you lose your love one but they are still here. Sorry for the bummer reply but this has been a very therapeutic process.
Thanks again for the encouragement.
