  Just for fun

Just for fun

Guitar and drums bass and singer
going to play a real hum-dinger

Practice practice every night
Trying so hard to get it right

All of us just having fun
Dreaming of a number one

Neighbors are mad the noise is too loud
They're really not our kind of crowd

Give it some time and you will see
Music in us is meant to be

And when we get that number one
We will keep playing just for fun

I'll be happy, when I learn enough, to start actually putting some chord work with my words.

Good song.

I just had a few minutes of fun banging out a tune and the words just seemed to slip in with no trouble at all. I'd let you hear the results, if it wasn't for the fact that when I try and play and sing at the same time it sounds less like a song and more like a tribe of tomcats fighting on a rusty trampoline ....

Keep up the good work. (And if you ever do write any songs that involve cats fighting, strange twanging noises, rusty screeches, low moanings and strangled squawkings - then I'm your man. )

Cheers,

Chris

Thanks Chris C, Go ahead and post your take on it, with my unmusical ears, you'll have nothing to worry about.

And thanks for the inspirational subjects to use for another song, I'll have to see what we come up with{lol}

"For Chris C" using your suggestions from above.

Just sitting there quietly doing some writing
When all of a sudden I heard some cats fighting

Startled me so much all those rusty screeches
I jumped up so fast spilled my ice-cream and peaches

I stormed to the door to myself I was talking
got to do something to stop that strangled squawking

Whatever I said with my mumblings and groanings
Sure shut them up quick except for some low moanings

This little song was written by 4string thats me
words need strange twanging noises how bout it Chris C

Chris C, I should state after rereading the above, that I
wasn't insinuating anything about your playing, was just stumped on where to use that "strange twanging noises" line. Sorry if you took offense to that......Kenny

Nobody who has actually heard my playing would consider that it was possible to offend it in any way at all.

I'd like to post a recording of my 'version' of your song, but doing my own recording is still halfway down my "To Do Soon. Well Reasonably Soon. Anyway, Definitely Sometime Before I Die ..." list.

I'm hoping that I'll get disciplined enough to get around to it sometime this year. But, when it comes to music, me and discipline are like oil and water - hard to mix.

At least I can now add "Mentioned in song by International Songwriter" to my CV.

Cheers,

Chris
