Songwriting program?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best (easiest!) program to use to write down a song that I am writing. I have only been playing a year and wrote a stupid little song and am ready for the final step.

Also want to say this is my first post on this site and I have learned alot from visiting here the past month or so. So thanks everyone!

Patty

Guitarpro5 would be my guess. It has a stiff learning curve though.

Are you asking about software for melodies or for lyrics?

As a side, I use plain old NotePad to start songs. Then I use a program call Lyricist to help me keep organized.

Keep in mind, software isn't going to help anyone be creative. That comes from within the writer/melody maker. Software just helps you put it all together.

If you're just starting out, I would hold off on dropping big bucks for software until you are more familiar with the entire process of song writing and melody making. Your own brain is a pretty good place to start. Using the tools at hand, pen and paper, can accomplish quite a bit.

If you need help in putting your melody together, ask away!

Good luck!

I'm thinking that maybe I didn't word my request properly but I am new at this!

I have the song written and have most of it down on paper but I wanted to make it look nice and be able to print it out to give to someone. Therefore, I just wondered what program would be very easy to use for me to do that.

And LC I might take you up on the "help" with the song. I have one little problem area
with the song and if I can't figure it out that would be nice!

Nutty - Thank you so much. I got it and have already tried it. So cool - I didn't know it would actually play back the song. A very good day for me

Nutty,

Great link! I never heard of it until you mentioned Finale. I just grabbed it! And WOW, nice piece of software..... I just did a test thing and right now, I'm impressed..... I'm now looking at the SongWriter plug-in for it.

Excellent link. Thanks a ton.

Your welcome everyone. It is a nice little program that does exactly what I need and it's not difficult to use.
