More Sam Baker Originals

I've just discovered this singer songwriter who started to write what he calls "real" songs after he was nearly killed by a terrorist bomb on a train in Peru. He has just made his first album 'Mercy' which is being featured on an Aussie music program this week. Not everyone will like it, but once you get used to it it's hypnotic - can't get the tunes out of my head. Here's the link

http://www.abc.net.au/rn/dailyplanet...07/1836508.htm

It's the first 2 tracks- 'Angel' followed by an instrumental version of same song (called 'Mercy') - good for noodling along to.

Another track (Pony) at 31.00 on the streaming Audio tracker at

http://www.abc.net.au/rn/dailyplanet...07/1836514.htm

While you're at that link you might want to check out some fancy Appalachan guitar picking on the first track at 2.00 minutes on streaming audio (Pretty Polly - Trad)

and some Beck/Robert Johnson at 17.55

or even some "sweet" Hawaiian style guitar at 25.50

Be warned, there will probably more tracks played during this week.....stay tuned

One good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain - Bob Marley

I have thoroughly enjoyed Sam's music. I wrote him a note regarding my sentiments to which he politely replied. A true Texas Gentleman.

Thanks for bring Sam to our attention!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
