Overview

After recording all of the voices and instruments you want, it comes time to find out exactly how you respect each of these components. You'll find that each needs to be treated differently and that some will become more important than others.

There are five main areas to think about in order to have a clear mix of your music. If you're serious about learning the art of producing your music like a pro, then you'll want to spend some time giving good consideration in each of these areas.

Mix Space
Stereo Pan Space
EQ Space
Volume Space
Effects Space

Within the EQ Space topic is the sub-topic of Sub-ranges of the Audio Spectrum

and then be conscious of advanced mixing techniques...

Find the Groove
The Groove
Build the House

Many variations of these main topics will be a matter of your taste, of course. Just keep in mind that the basic idea of these five essential areas of mix down plus remembering to Find the Groove and Build the House will reward you with a cleaner, more memorable mix.

I'll expand on each area. Click on the links in the lists above to hit separate parts of the article.

Have a blast!

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
