Hi M8, only time and patience will allow your fingers to work properly.
I nearly gave up playing many, many, many times. And then one day it just happened; my fingers worked perfectly. The one, most important thing you need to know when learnig guitar is that time is a friend and in time you WILL be able to move all of your fingers as you want them to.
Good luck and PLEASE keep at it.

its just practise .
start with the easier open chords like Dmajor , A minor , E major , E minor
G major is difficult for a beginner .

It might take a couple of weeks to get that G chord down. You may have to stretch your fingers first to get it. Patience.

Not sure if you mean that you are finding it difficult to physically fit more than one finger in a fret space at a time, or just that it's slow to form a complete chord. Either way, rather than 'missing with both fingers', probably better to deliberately practice putting one finger on the appropriate fret first, then the next and so on, but always in the same deliberate order. With time and practice it will just happen automatically and so fast that you will be virtually getting them all on together. Don't worry about not being able to play chords on day one. If it were that easy, everybody and his dog would be a guitar hero.

I had this trouble too, I used 2nd and 3rd finger for E&A and my pinky on high E that way I have the 1st finger cocked and ready for a C which 90% of the time comes next, maybe unortodox (my instructor shuddered) but it works for me

You might want to start with a 4 finger G chord (it sounds much better in my opinion)
3
3
0
0
2
3
Then practice going from G to Cadd9 to Dmaj ...... and start with a count of 4 but only stumming on the 1

Fingers have to be trained slowly like dogs.
When you start out they simply have no idea where to go and you're trying to teach them a sequence of movements they're not used to. So expect it to be slow and nasty for the first few weeks.
Start by placing the 3 fingers on the right strings. Use your other hand to help position them if necessary. Test out each string to see if it 'rings' properly. Once you're set, have a bit of a bash and strum up and down a bit, just to reward yourself.
Then lift your fingers ever so slightly off the strings and put them back down again. Check all the strings to see if they still sound right (they might not to start with). Keep repeating this until you're getting it clean every time. Then lift the fingers off a bit more. Slowly work your way towards being able to put them down from right off the fretboard or from other positions altogether.
To begin with your first two fingers (index and middle) will be fairly good at the job, but the ring and pinkie will need plenty of work to build up both strength and the ability before they will be much good at going where you tell them.
It will be a tad boring at first, so while you do the repetitions it might help to also work on a few strum patterns so that the sound doesn't get too montonous.
Good luck. Keep it at it and soon you'll hardly remember how come it was ever hard. Just don't get discouraged when it takes longer than you hoped.
Cheers,
Chris

Awkward, rather than nasty.

Love that quote, Chris! You hit the nail right on the head there.
