I was learning some new songs and found one I was searching for; but I don't get what the numbers mean..?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not familiar with that notation Ben but I would guess it's where each downstrum should be played. If that's the case then I would also say it's more likely to be:-

[D]I'm the type of [2]guy who [3]never settles [4]down
Where [1]pretty girls [2]are, you'll [3]know that I'm a[4]round

Yup- pretty much looks like it's counting out the beats for you
