Lefty???

Just curious if there is anything I need to know because I'm a lefty. Are there certain techniques that I will have trouble with? And also, do I need to find some online lessons that are specifically for left handed people or just try and follow along with the regular right handed lessons? Just curious.....

Really nothing different than playing "righty" - except you're doing it backwards!

All the lessons and techniques should apply the same - a lefty guitar has the strings reversed so it's strung the same way for a lefty as a right-hander is for a righty (low 'E' to the top, high 'E' to the bottom).

Bad news is they are more expensive new because of low volume sales. Good news is they are cheaper second hand for the same reason.

Yeah, I ran into that problem. But overall, a lefty guitar isn't that much more expensive. When I upgrade, I'm sure I'll be finding a nice used guitar.

This site has a nifty chord finder for lefties. You might find it handy.

I'm playing lefthanded... The only thing that really annoyed me was that you'll find very often people saying something like "place your left hand on that fret...", instead of saying "place your fretting hand..." My advice is that you shouldn't use any chord diagrams or anything like that for lefties... "When in Rome..." It's not so hard to read it that way... I'm using fretboard maps for lefties only...
