One Of Those Days!
Yes, I've had one of those days where I just wanna blow a fuse!
Excuse me while I curse with care....
Been playing guitar and absolutely nothing went right.
I was determined not to let it beat me, so I had a break for a while and decided to go back to it. But no change! I just didn't feel comfortable at all, and even felt like I was at war with the guitar.
Even my finger tips have been hurting even though I have callouses on top of callouses.
I really hope tomorrow is much better for guitar practise than it was today!
Today was a total waste!

yeah there are... sometimes I find I get onstage and everything works - my fingers seem to fly on the strings, the tone is 'there' no matter which guitar I am playing, and the solos are a good combination of technique, melody and feel...and people by me drinks and talk to me about my playing.
Then there are those days when stringing 2 notes together seems like the hardest thing in the world!

Neil, I have those day's on a regular basis lately. I think I need a few day's away from playing. I reckon my Mojo has took a holiday.
Now when I talk to God he said he'd understand, Stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to.

It still happens after 35 years! You can't fight it, you just have to work through it....

I'm not sure if my mojo took a holiday. For me it think it's more a case of it taking off for a walkabout and now it can't find it's way back.

Neil I'm betting you've suffered this before and come through it ok, and you will this time. Hang loose mate.

Thanks Geoff! Yeah, you're right, I have been through it before and come out of it with a few bruises, but it's very frustrating when it does happen.
As has been said by many guitarists far greater than I, that one day you feel like a master and the next day, a complete flop. It is so true!

We shall overcome, so the song say's, Sometimes I feel my guitar is really fighting me. or is it my fingers or my mind. I reckon it's how your Karma is at the time.
Now when I talk to God he said he'd understand, Stick by me I'll be your guiding hand. But don't ask me what I think of you. I might not give the answer you want me to.

There are some days I can't even get into a comfortable position

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
Buy it now for only $10 |
