Wish You Were Here
Hey guys,
In the country I live at there is a small society called Doha players, mostly westeners are in this society. Every two weeks or so there is a Music night where people can play any music theyd like.
Its going to be held in my garden and so i thought i might just aswell play something. So me and some of my step-fathers friends decided that we ll play the Pink Floyd song Wish You Were Here.
I dont know the song all too well yet and so id like to ask if you guys got any exercises for me or any other hints or something
Thanks

Perhaps have a really good listen to the original by Pink Floyd, and even try play along to it as your listening.
I hope it all goes well for you on the night anyway!
Good luck!

Plus its a really great song. But yes definatly get familiar with the original first... you'll probably get hooked on the Pink Floyd sound also.

You can solo E minor pentatonic over this tune all day... even the intro parts are E minor pentatonic based

There are so many basic tricks on the song to perform. I can help you with the background music if you want? Also, as someone said, improvise over the Em pentatonic scale and the Major scale. Practice a lot on your room before the show, because you need to be confident about what your gonna do. If you think you screwed some part DONT EVER stop. Keep on with what your doing Tell us how the gig was. Good luck.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule
Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!
