' rocky mountain high' intro ??????????

hi,

I've tried to play this john denver song for several times now, But i stil can't get the rythm feeling for the intro right. I've listed the notes played in the intro below, they are kinda right but there are some variations during the song. Does anyone know how to play this intro with that typical rythm sound combined with the solo notes.
Hope somebody can help me with this one.

Thanks

intro (dropped D- tuning)

Have a look at http://www.guitarforbeginners.com/rocky/ ... I did a quick movie of the part he (sort of) plays.

It's in the key of E, but capoed up on the second fret, played in dropped D. The way I did it was to hold down and frail away at a little D triad and work the line around it, picking with my thumb. It then goes to a G and then an A. After I finished I noticed the tab you posted. It's pretty much exactly that except I didn't make the Em so noticeable, and I played the A chord as a triad, not a power chord at the 7th fret (well, 9th fret counting the capo).

I hope you can see how it's done. As always, it's the flow, the feel, the vibe of it that is the important ingredient.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
