anyone have any suggestions on...

how to build finger strength and flexibility? ive been playing for about a week now and i can do some barre chords, but i still have some trouble stretching my fingers that far and pressing down alot of strings at once. part of the problem might be that i have small hands, but im not gonna let that stop me from playing guitar.

The main remedy is to do much finger training. It does take some time at first to get the Fingering right. After a good amount of practice, you'll find that your fingers will respond faster and be able to stretch more. I myself use this hand dexterity technique listed at http://www.onlineguitarlessons.co.uk..._dexterity.php

I've found it to help.

G'luck.

Guitar: 1) Behringer Stratocaster; Webstrings Memphis Electric Xlight strings; Dunlop Picks

2) Ibanez TCY-10 Talman Series; Elixir Light strings.

Those exercises are very similar to the types of exercises you would do in physiotherapy after breaking your hand...

I busted my bone in my left hand that connects to my pinky finger a bit over two years ago (don't pick fights with thick windows)...and my flexibility is still not great...though I do give some credit to the flexibility that I have to playing the guitar...music is one of the best medicines.

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
