Hello, I would like to know more about Strumming / Rhythm guitar. What kind of book do you recommend? I have learned G chord of your way. Do you know more about those kind more? It really sounded good to me. I want to further study on those kind of chords.

I'm afraid I don't know of any books that teach strumming, but the best way to learn, in my opinion, is to experiment, listen to your favorite music and mimic what you hear. Basic strumming is not very tricky, and your ear should tell you when you're doing OK. Record yourself if possible and listen back. Build up your own repertoire of strum patterns.

Acoustic Rock for Guitar
by M. Wolfsohn

It's only about 20 pages (if that) but it has a good, basic rundown of picking and strumming styles as related to some well known players.


beyond that I'm goning to second Kirk's vote about listening to your favorite music and strumming along. Go ahead and mute all the strings with youyr left hand and let that right arm find the rhythm naturally.

I second the method of muting the strings and just listening to the rhythm of the strumming until you are sick of it. Also, a metronome is a good aid if you have problems staying on beat.

Also Rythm Guitarists focus mostly on chords and it's progressions rather than single notes like a lead does.
