New Bassist, looking for tips.

Alright, first an intro.

I am Steve, already 18 and thought that it would be a good time to get into an instrument, Ive decided on the Bass Guitar. I have a few questions that I cant seem to get the answers to so I decided to search the world wide web to find them. That search has landed me here.

Ive decided on getting the Fender Squire Bass Package because it comes with everything I need and I was told that its a pretty sweet package. Now for my questions.

I want to learn a bit on my own before I go for lessons (as they are expensive and I flip burgers). Where is the best source for that?

How difficult is it to learn the Bass guitar?

How often should I take lessons?

anything else I should know?

Steve

The GfB&B Guitar Slide Rule

Download the PDF of the 'Guitar Chord Slide Rule', print it out, fold it together and you'll have at your disposal a very neat tool that will not only show you all the positions for the main flavors of chords, but will also teach you a very important lesson about how the guitar works... It consists of a folded sleeve and six double sided inserts, instructions for cutting it out and folding it together are included with the PDF ... it's very simple to do, and if you botch it, you can simply print it out again!

Buy it now for only $10
